ABOUT ICON
The Imperial Court of Nebraska, or ICON, is a 501c3 non-profit, dedicated to raising funds to help those in need. Since its inception on July 15, 1980, ICON has raised over a million dollars for charities.
WHAT DOES ICON DO?
Most of our fundraising is done one dollar at a time, with the public tipping performers at shows of various types in venues throughout the state. Our shows feature female impersonators, male impersonators, live singers and the occasional stand-up comic. One of our most popular events is a community picnic held every Memorial Day and Labor Day.
HOW CAN I HELP?
We love volunteers! There are several ways to get involved with ICON. If you would like to help in any way, please contact us through this website. We also, of course, accept monetary donations which are tax deductible to you. If you are a performer or just someone with a desire to help, let us know!
OUR STRUCTURE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board of Directors is the governing body of ICON. The board functions within the existing, working by-laws of ICON and maintains and protects all records of the court. Records are available for review upon request.
CURRENT REIGN
Each year, the community elects a new Emperor and Empress to serve as the public face of ICON - representing the organization both in town and across the country. Learn more about our current reign at the link below.
ICON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The ICON Foundation Scholarship Fund, established in 1996 by Empress 16&19 Phoenix Fallentino, provides scholarships for individuals who self-identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or as children of gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender persons. Unlike other scholarships, the ICON Scholarship provides funds for any expense associated with being a student including rent, utility bills, and groceries. Each year there will be at least one scholarship awarded in each category (gay, lesbian, bi, transgender or child of a GLBT person) in which there are applicants who meet established criteria.
